After almost a year on and off, finally this Winnie & Friends growth chart is finished. Woot woot!

Finally, it's finished and has gone to its new home. This is Sea Babies by Stoney Creek, and I never want to see it again ;). Pics are clickable if you want to see it a bit bigger.

After all that baby stuff stitching I was aching for something a little more elaborate so I've picked up How does your garden grow, by Papillon Creations, and I have now finished parts 1 through 9 out of 12. Will post a couple photos later.

Very late TUSAL & Update

Here is a very late update, I just haven't felt up to blogging much lately... Here is my TUSAL jar for July, along with an update photo on the Sea Babies sampler. Obviously I didn't make my deadline on July 25th to finish it, but it turns out that my friend will be in the country for a whole month, so that leaves me longer to get it done :)

Framing and Sea Babies

Long time no post... Here is what I have been up to:

I framed Lily of the Valley:

The plan is to frame every Nora Corbet pixie I stitch in a silver frame. I didn't include the glass as I thought it crushed the beads and took away from the sparkle.

I also framed the mystery SAL from By the Bay Needlearts:

I love that frame, it's very Cape Cod-y :)

And finally I have been plowing along on the Sea Babies sampler:

I made a couple substitutions, changing the called for Glissengloss Colorwash 509 in the bubbles to DMC 3839, and Glissengloss Colorwash 542 in the heart to DMC Color Variations 4200.

Here is a close-up picture of the little seahorse, it's got lots of colors and backstitching (ugh!):

This sampler is very cute, but I cannot wait to be done with it so I can get back to my other projects, I'm itching for the specialty stitches of HDYGG and the subtle colors of HAEDs...

Dragonflies and Sea Babies

Time for a little update, so here is Dragonflies Whisper (3 over 1 tent stitch on 25ct lugana), after about a week of stitching:

Then last night I realized that my friend Dani will be arriving in Ireland for a visit with her new baby boy in exactly a month, and I still hadn't started on the birth record I promised myself I would do to her! She did a her nursery in a nautical theme so I ended up chosing the Sea Babies birth sampler  by Stoney Creek:

Here is my start on it, stitching 2 over 1 full cross on 22 count hardanger fabric:

I am going to have to drop all other projects and focus on this one exclusively in order to finish it before her arrival on July 25th as it is almost 30,000 stitches...

Winnie & Friends - Another Update

Well today is St Patrick's day and here in Ireland we have a long weekend, which I intend to fill with stitches.

Here are a couple ''before'' pictures, and hopefully I'll remember to post ''after'' pictures on Tuesday. Tigger is stitched and backstitched, and the first balloon has appeared. Next will be more of those endless background half stitch clouds, before moving on to more balloons.

Second piece of the year, this will be a growth chart for my son when it is finally finished. I started it just before Christmas and as of mid-march I am almost finished with it.

Finish: Wild Thing Birth Record

This is the piece that brought me back to cross-stitching after a hiatus of many years. It is rather small in size (A4), but it took me a loooong time to finish it. Between a new baby, a ridiculous multi-hour work commute, and finally a move to a different continent, it finally got done in January this year.

And now my stitchy bug is back with a vengeance, I can't get enough of it :)
